Centre Completes Mediation Training

Last week the Scottish Community Mediation Centre completed its second five-day Mediation Skills course for staff of the City of Edinburgh Council. Since June this year the Centre has trained council staff on how to use mediation skills in a community setting via our well-respected and accredited course.

Rachael Craik, project officer with the City of Edinburgh Council said afterwards “all staff members who participated in the training thoroughly enjoyed the five day course, even going so far as to say that this is the best training event that they have been involved in. They can envisage how the skills they have learned will be used in their everyday work and family life as well as help them in their new role as Community Mediators”.

Ian McDonough, lead trainer and the Centre’s Manager, said “It has been a great experience working with staff from across several council offices here in Edinburgh, developing their mediation skill base and knowledge”.

The Centre regularly provides Mediation Skills training courses to a range of public and private bodies and in the past has delivered training from Shetlands to Dumfries, from Benbecula to Moray. If you think your organisation would benefit from mediation training do contact us.
