SCMN Accreditation

At the recent Scottish Community Mediation Network’s meeting in Dalkeith, Grant Brown from the South Lanarkshire Mediation Service was presented with his Mediator Accreditation certificate.

Grant said “I have really enjoyed my experience in Mediation and going through the Accreditation was both educational and rewarding. Thanks to all who gave me support and encouragement, I am a better person for meeting and learning from you.”

George Mackenzie, one of the assessors for the Accreditation schemes commented “SCMN runs high quality accreditation schemes that allows services and mediators to seek accreditation by measuring themselves against an agreed set of standards. In my experience the team of assessors have managed to combine the discipline required with an informal and friendly approach to both services and individual mediators.”

The Mediator Accreditation scheme, together with its counterparts for Services and Training courses has been established since 2007 since when over 50 mediators and a dozen services have become accredited. The schemes are administered by the Scottish Community Mediation Centre. For more information on the accreditation schemes go to our webpage here
