Perth and Kinross Service Succeed in Renewing Accreditation

Perth and Kinross Community Mediation Service were recently presented with their certificate of Accreditation at a meeting in Hamilton.

This follows on from their original Accreditation in 2009. One of the assessors for the Service’s portfolio, Rachel Blow, said how “It was a privilege to be part of the assessment team. They continue to meet standards despite challenges to the service. We had the opportunity to engage with members of an experienced team over practice standards and some of the finer points of procedural detail. “

Colette Corby -one of the mediators - was there to receive the Service’s certificate along with her team leader. Colette commented ”The Perth and Kinross Mediation Service has undergone many changes and developments in the 5 years since it was first accredited by the SCMN in 2009. I am delighted that our service has maintained the standard and practice to be recognised by the SCMN to be worthy of being re accredited.”

Julie Young, the Service’s Team Leader said “I am proud that the mediation service has been awarded the renewal of Accreditation by the SCMN in recognition of the professional service the mediators provide.”

The Accreditation scheme is run by the Scottish Community Mediation Network (SCMN) and has been in existence since 2007 during which time over 50 mediators and some 14 services have been accredited.
