The Scottish Community Mediation Network represents community mediation services from most areas in Scotland, from Shetland to the Borders.
Different ways of providing a mediation service have been developed – in some areas the mediators come from independent specialist charities, and in others they are part of an in-house local authority team. All of the services aim to work with the public in a safe, effective and efficient way. Because of this, SCMN has introduced a comprehensive accreditation scheme for mediators, mediation services and training courses. SCMN has been accepted as an ‘approved body’ for the purposes of the Scottish Mediation Register.
The Network meets regularly to share information and good practice on all aspects of community mediation. You can find details of upcoming meetings in our News section.
