The Scottish Community Mediation Centre produces a range of guides, briefing papers and publications to help encourage the growth of mediation services and promote good standards.

  • Problems Next Door, an introduction to community mediation.
  • Briefing papers: a range of short, succinct guides covering many aspects of mediation.
  • A series of six guides covering a wide range of issues related to the setting up and running of community mediation services. The guides also cover broader issues in community conflict.

Below are two excerpts from A Guide to Mediating in Scotland which was published in 2008 by Dundee University Press (ISBN: 9781845860523).

For further information or to order copies, visit the University website.

The Journey to Empathy was written by a British mediator, Martin Golder. It is an amusing article but one that does carry a message that should resonate with all mediators. The article appeared on the American mediate.com website, May 2009. >>Click here for review.

Mediate.com is an interesting website that all mediators should visit. >>Click here for review.
